"It is difficult to put into words the impact Chestnuts TW1 has had on our daughter, Luna, and us as a family; difficult simply because there is so much to say. Luna has been going to Chestnuts nursery/pre-school full time since she was 1 years old and is soon leaving as she begins primary school in September 2021. At every stage of her life at Chestnuts TW1 Luna has had the most positive experience and we have seen her thrive and grow in ways we never would have imagined. The wonderful, warm, experienced and diverse staff are the backbone of Chestnuts TW1, and children and parents are treated with such respect and genuine care. This has always felt more than a nursery school, and a genuine community that has centred on happy, healthy and thriving children. We rarely hear about such places or communities at nursery/pre-school level, and we feel so incredibly fortunate to have found Chestnuts TW1 as it feels like we have found a rare gem.
We have always been impressed at what Chestnuts TW1 offers children, including: their thoughtful and integrated approach to learning; wonderful environment and garden; caring and lively staff; an abundance of resources; and a warm hug, big smile and encouragement when needed. How staff interact with parents and keep them informed has also always been so appreciated, particularly for parents like us who work full time and are always desperate to hear about Luna's day. We love reading the weekly plans sent out, the regular Tapestry updates, admiring the art work and other things coming home with Luna, and have informal chats with staff about things Luna has enjoyed or found challenging in her day. But best of all, we have relished in the stories that Luna has shared every day about her time at Chestnuts. She is always bursting with things to share, and hearing them transports us into a world of fun, adventure and learning.
At every step Luna has been supported to do the things she loves, whilst also encouraged to try new things. And at every key milestone or transition, Chestnuts staff have attentively supported Luna and ensured her experience is fun and engaging; from potty training to getting ready for school. Chestnuts TW1 approaches everything with such care and vigour that we have never once worried about Luna.
Chestnuts TW1 is unique and wonderful in every way and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a safe, caring, fun and rewarding learning environment for their children to thrive in."
"As parents, we have felt so thankful for Chestnuts and consider it a brilliant environment for our son. He has grown in confidence, learning and character throughout his two years there – and has enjoyed making friend and experiencing a range of activities and challenges. The team work tirelessly to create new activities for children and constantly push themselves to think of new, interesting things for the children to enjoy! We have loved the variety of play our son experienced – building in the garden, cooking, problem solving, arts and craft and in recent months, learning to write and do simple maths. We’re also thankful for the reinforcement of Chestnuts values, for example in teaching the children to serve food to their friends first at mealtimes, to always use kind words and to build each other up with encouragement. We couldn’t have asked for a better pre-school setting!"
"Chestnuts TW1 is an incredible Nursery and deserves the highest praise. All the Staff (led by Tracy) are warm, caring and engage with the children brilliantly. My son has grown into a confident young boy who is about to start school in September and the Chestnuts team have done an incredible job in nurturing and developing his key skills. I shall always be grateful to Chestnuts for the incredible foundation they have given to Jack."
"I have found the staff at Chestnuts to be outstanding; their communication is second to none. They have a fantastic pick up / drop off structure in place (for all parents/caters) which allows me ample time to check in with how my children were on that specific day and how they are progressing.
"Olivia (Minnie) has attended Chestnuts for over 1.5 years. Chestnuts is a wonderful Pre-School and we couldn't have been happier with the care and support from Tracy and the rest of the team. Chestnuts is a very happy place and all of the children are treated as individuals. Olivia is leaving Chestnuts as a happy and confident girl who's interested and curious about the world. She has really flourished in the learning environment at Chestnuts and especially enjoyed the outside spaces. The free flow nature of the setting is great and Olivia has hugely benefited from the varied and challenging activities available and strong relationships with Tracy and the rest of the team. I have also been particularly impressed with the support offered to the children leaving the Pre-School to help their transition to school."
"My son has attended Chestnuts TW1 setting since Jan 2019 and I the impact the setting and team have had on him over these crucial years has been incredible!
"Both my children have attended Chestnuts ~ my daughter currently 4 days a week since she was 1. I could ask for a warmer, more attentive & nurturing place to have her go.. somewhere I feel so secure & safe knowing she is there, which is a massive comfort to any parent.
"Our son, William, has been at Chestnuts since he was two and a half, and is now due to leave to start school in September. He had a place booked and paid for at another nursery when we were told there was space at Chestnuts, and we made the decision that Chestnuts was the right fit for him. We are so so glad we did. The staff are incredible, they go above and beyond to ensure parents are kept informed, the children are happy and thriving, and that there is a degree of flexibility within the setting to ensure the child’s needs are met. William has become a confident, friendly, knowledgeable little boy during his time at Chestnuts, loving the Chestnuts garden, the library, the tadpoles and the many, many friends he has made there. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough and are looking forward to our daughter Rose joining Chestnuts when she turns 2 and half in April 2022."
"Since joining Chestnuts in January, our little boy has flourished in such a caring environment. He is stimulated by the carefully planned curriculum and has learned so much. All the staff are professional, caring and so kind. He talks often of the Chestnuts values and regularly quotes them at home. He absolutely loves his time with you. We can’t recommend this nursery highly enough."
"Our son is really enjoying going to Chestnuts. He loves his teachers, his friends, the lunches, the themed lessons, the songs, and playing outside. He comes home to tell me that he was a “server” at some of the lunches, which he is proud of. He has made nice friends and we have had playdates outside of Chestnuts with them too. The parents are friendly and diverse and we have organised fun meet-ups in the evenings or weekends. As a parent, I have found the management and staff to be very friendly, approachable, communicative, and flexible, which was much appreciated because we are new to the UK and haven’t had easy experiences with other nurseries. Our son was shy to start because he is used to being home with us, but the Chestnuts environment was warm and staff were welcoming and patient, which really helped his transition. We can tell they really understand and care for our son and have created a Chestnuts family. We love that they have themed weeks and creative lessons which allow our son to continue having a playful and interesting environment. The garden is beautiful and well contained so he can enjoy being outside with his friends. We love their values, that they talk about nature a lot, are growing vegetables, that they have meal time together, and have a variety of enriching activities for his growth and development. It is noticeable to us that he has already learned a lot from being at Chestnuts!"
